Tibet Kora or circumambulation is a clockwise pilgrimage around sacred site or object. In Lhasa, the capital of Tibet it is Nangkhor Kora, Barkhor and Tsekhor Kora. In Shigatse it is Tashilunpo Monastery Kora, outside of Lhasa there are Lake Namtso and Mt Kailash Kora... There are two main attributes in Buddhist pilgrimage: malas with 108 praying beads which are used to count mantras and praying wheel. According to Tibetan Buddhist belief, spinning a prayer wheel (Mani) is the same as reciting the sacred texts. The prayer wheel is also used by illiterate members of Buddhist community, since they can "read" the prayers by turning the wheel.
